Activity reports

At the end of stage 1, there were reported the following documents relating the activities undertaken within the SPLANN project:

  • Research report – Study upon speech production models and, in particular of infant cries (voice signals) – part I, realized by the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ETTI) from University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB) and SOFTWIN. The document contains a detailed comparative study of speech production models and baby’s cries, as mandatory step prior to the development and implementation of efficient algorithms for cry recognition.
  • Research report – Study upon the meanings of infant’s language – part I, realized by The Emergency Clinical Hospital "Sf. Pantelimon" and SOFTWIN. In this study it was necessary to classify the types of crying and to highlight the criteria for classification. These elements constitute a starting point for launching the project, which aims to support the inexperienced parents to betters understand their child’s needs.
  • Procedure of the acquisition of voice signals corresponding to infant’s language – part I, realized by SOFTWIN. The acquisition process of voice signals implied taking into consideration the criteria for choosing subjects, data acquisition protocol and data acquisition application.
  • Specification document – the experimentation platform for infant language recognition methods, realized by SOFTWIN.
